Albright College Library

The Albright College Library occupies 4 floors and has a reference and general collections of more than 247,000 books, periodicals, microforms and audiovisual materials. The Special Collections Department includes rare and important local and historical materials and the College Archives. It can accommodate up to 300 library researchers.

In addition to a wireless network, the Library maintains group study rooms equipped with computer and audiovisual devices and gives access to more than 20,000 electronic books and 23,000 print and online magazine and newspaper subscriptions. Digital resources include databases from major database vendors, including EbscoHost, FirstSearch, Lexis-Nexis, ProQuest and WilsonWeb. These sources connect to over 100 different book, journal and newspaper databases and provide access to thousands of online, full-text journals. All students have access to the online catalog, electronic books, and all of its electronic databases 24 hours a day, seven days a week from on-campus, from either on or off-campus. Students can request, free of charge, almost any book or article through the interlibrary loan system.

The Library is a member of the Pennsylvania Library Information Network (PALINET), the Online Computer Library Center (OCLC), the Associated College Libraries of Central Pennsylvania (ACLCP) and the Libraries Very Interested in Sharing (LVIS). As a member of ACLCP, a consortium of more than 20 college and research libraries, the library can provide access through the automated catalog to more than four million volumes held by member libraries.

French Institute Library of New York

The leading French library in the United States at the French Institute Alliance Française (FIAF) is a state-of-the-art facility. The Library’s mission is to provide FIAF Members and Students with a dynamic collection of quality materials. It specializes in materials on contemporary France and plays a key role in supporting and promoting cultural and pedagogical activities, as well as providing its members with a window on contemporary France.

In addition to an excellent collection of over 30,000 books, the bright and sophisticated new space now houses a state-of-the-art médiathèque , with a 1,500-title video and DVD collection, CD-ROMs, contemporary and classical music, as well as over 100 magazines and newspapers that cover all areas of contemporary French culture. The Library catalog may be consulted via the Internet. On site, wi-fi connection and internet access and video/DVD player are available, resource guides, thematic bibliographies, reader guides and monthly book selections are located on the Library webpage at fiaf.org/library.

French Institute Library of Boston

The French Library Alliance Française of Boston has the mission to provide an authentic French cultural and social experience for the purpose of personal enrichment and greater understanding of the diverse peoples of the French-speaking world. It is the 2nd largest private French Library in the US and the cultural center for the francophone world in New England.

The library presents a collection of approximately 25,000 French books and more than 1000 pictures and story books. Its new online catalog accessed from the Library website allows access to the patron account, to reading suggestions and newest additions, to a search history, to francophone website links, and to renew online and put on hold some materials.
