Thanks to the addition of this new CMS (Content Management System) tool, Mondo*Media lets you add your own touch and feel to your OPAC. Not only that, it also lets you do it EASILY. It’s not just an OPAC anymore; it’s an open door to host all of your solutions, with single sign-on to boot.

Will my patrons be happy?

Of course they will. Mondo*Media was inspired mostly by users’ and patrons’ comments and suggestions. Since we have the patrons and you in mind, you can rest assured that they will be happy now and for the foreseeable future. Below are a few of our improvements based on suggestions.

No problem! Mondo*Media is a multilingual offering, making it easier for all patrons to be comfortable, using the solution in the language of their choice.

How do we keep searches we do often?

BiblioMondo has developed an advanced basket system which enables you to preserve search results. On top of this, the Shared Basket allows you to show or send your results to whomever you want by e-mail.

Can I do more with my records?

Our enriched records allow you to see cover pages, table of contents, back cover blurb and more. All of this at the same time as your search results populates the page, meaning quick and easy results.

How can I refine my search?

Mondo*Media now includes facetted searches. This new tool refines the search and allows you to explore facets of your search as you enter it. It does this by presenting the most frequently used terms within the query results, like the most used subjects, authors, publications and many more.

How will Metasearch help me?

The metasearch is a tool that allows you to expand your search to multiple targets at once. It is a Federated Search allowing access to hidden Web resources, within the deep web.

What are the new tools I can use?

We have created many new additions to the traditional portal. Now your patrons are able to do more in less time. Below are just a few new items aimed at creating a unique experience through your portal.

The Calendar

This new addition easily allows the library manager to announce different events, workshops and special invitations to the patrons, simply! Click on a date, choose a time and add your message (even tag pictures).

Forums

This interactive Q & A allows you to ask questions to your patrons relative to novelties, suggestions,...

Digital Scrolling

Ever wanted to give everybody a message at the same time, and make sure they see it? This tool allows you to announce messages and events on the home page in plain view. It will be the first thing your patrons see.

The Photo Gallery

The photo gallery permits the posting of interesting pictures, library events, preferred patrons and more to be displayed in a section of its own.

Patron Management

None of your patrons are the same, so why manage them the same way? With the Patron management, you give access to the portal according to the patrons’ profile. This means kids don’t have the same access to tools as experienced users or even senior citizens.

Patron polls

Ever wanted to know if your patrons enjoy the new additions to the repository? Why not ask them? The patron poll tool allows you to ask questions to your patrons and gather the results, by user, by age group and even with a graphic of all the stats.

Tagging system

The tagging system allows patrons to tag their favorite subjects for their next searches, permitting them to have a refined search according to names, categories, subjects and phone.
